Joe and Bob
From WikiBabulu
Joe and Bob was a short lived project of Joe Genden and Bob Zimmermann, post Superbob, in an effort to begin writing songs with a slightly less irony, and to hone their studio chops.

[edit] Beginnings
The cover- and improv-album project Superbob was a huge joke that vainly centered itself around Bob. Much of the instrumental collaboration took place with Joe, with the exception of the last album, Strife, Misery, and the Pursuit of Superness, decidedly the worst. Joe and Bob attended the University of Michigan together and toyed around with the idea of getting together again for a band, after recording a demo.
Bob began writing songs, the first being On the Corporate Dime.
[edit] Recording
In the summer of 2000 instrumental tracks were recorded, in Beverly Hills, Michigan, Joe and Bob's home town on Bob's new reel-to-reel 8-track studio. One track was written on the fly, Joe (Sucks), which would epitomize the tongue-in-cheek nature of the project. Band Song, as well, was a collaboration, sweeping through many pop genres that the two were exposed to at the time.
What was supposed to be a modest demo inevitably became a full-blown CD-EP, given Bob's propensity toward ambitious cover art. Pictures were taken, and in the fall, the art laid out, and finally, the tracks finalized on the computer. The end result was We Rock!
[edit] The Band
Saxifragaceae! started with Jason Voss singing and playing guitar, Bob playing bass and singing, Joe on drums and Jon Irwin on guitar. Many of Jason's songs were incorporated in setlists, as well as some covers. Bob worked on a couple new songs, Gingermen and Circle, both of which would appear on Niji Babulu's Raizin Hell-o.
Guitarists and band names were rotated for Jason's later vacant position, and the band eventually dissolved, as it became more and more centered around Bob.
